-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's Official...The 2010 Motor City Fun Run II & "Old School Offshore ReunionIII" June 19, 2010 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- O.K. everyone….It’s Official!!!!!!!! The 2010 Motor City Fun Run II & "Old School Offshore Reunion III" will be held on June 19, 2010 at Jack's Dockside Resturant (Jack's Waterfront)... On Lk. St. Clair and the Detroit River (Detroit, Michigan)... We are still tweaking the final details, but rest assured, you are gonna love it and what we have planned for you… Just like last year, you said that you wanted a simple, all inclusive and no cost/low cost event… Well, again…you’ve got it!!! It is designed with all performance offshore powerboaters in mind…both Big $$$ and small $$$ and everyone in between… But, this is just a preliminary announcement… The official announcement will be posted on the Poker Runs, Fun Run and Events thread on OSO, SOS, Great Lakes Offshore, LSCN and the Sunsation BBS…And probably on Facebook as well... For the record, we are loosely organized as Can-Am Offshore…But, we are actually a bunch of frustrated American and Canadian OSO and SOS’ers…Who like to run and have fun!!! The name was necessary to submit proposals for donations, clearances and approvals… But, more on that later… Our primary base of operations will be Jack's Dockside resturant in St. Clair Shores, Mich. (on the Nautical Mile). They have been so kind as to allow us to shore up, muster up and return there for food & fun after our run...They have great food & a great boating atmosphere and will allow us the use of their seawall docking for those wanting to tie up overnight on Fri, Sat. or Sun. In addition, there is ample parking, a guarded & secure launch ramp next door at either Emerald City Marine Harbor or the state run or city run boat launches next door...Note: there are also a marine repair facility on-site at Emerald City, Miller Marina and at Jefferson Beach Marina (all next door). For those that are trailering in, Jack's is located just east of Jefferson and 9 Mile rd. (in Emerald City Harbor) and is a very short distance from exits on I-94... We will start muster at approx 10:00am, have a driver's meeting and support the "Old School Reunion III" "Offshore Show & Shine"...Then, we will start the fun run around noon...eventually returning to Jack’s Dockside Restaurant (Lk. St. Clair) at approx. 4:30pm. And yes, some of the "Old School" offshore guys will be joining us (yes!!!)... We will also do an “Idle-By” of the Windsor Yacht Club, Lakeview Marina and Lilly Kazillys on the Canadian side of Peche Island…to show our support for their much appreciated involvement… A strictly enforced 5mph NO WAKE ZONE!!!... Just off the shipping channel… NOTE:…For those of us who aren't fortunate enough to own an Outerlimits, MTI, Skater or the like, etc…and often feel that you never get any exposure &/or respect… You’ll have lot’s of fun, lots of adrenaline, lot's of spectators, lot's of respect...rest assured… So, please, please, please, be on your best “fun run" behavior…Please wear PFD's and stay sober!!! So, now,….We're gonna need your help... We need a roll-call response (email) of all the tentative, as well as confirmed RSVP’s as soon as possible… We have to complie a manifest for U.S. Homeland Security & Customs as soon as possible... Please leave us an email at motorcityfunrun@yahoo.com and let us know how many boats &/or how many passengers you are bringing…also let us know when you are coming and any special requests &/or arrangements… Or, you can call Jim at 313-510-2208 or 313-957-1991 BTW...If you have any access, connections, donations &/or skills that will help make this event a super-duper success, please let us know... Here's an update on the 2010 Motor City Fun Run II...
As of this writing, we have 27 confirmed boats from as far away as Toronto, Chicago, Cincinnati and N.Y. and we expect a total of 30-40 boats.... So, guys & gals....It's game on!!!!
