Lake Havasu Boat Show & Desert Storm
 

Hope some of you will consider making a trip out to the 2013 Lake Havasu Boat Show and Desert Storm Poker Run. The Boat Show is April 19-21 and Desert Storm (Street Party, Poker Run and Shoot-Out) starts a couple of days later, April 24-27. The Havasu Boat Show has more high performance boats than any boat show west of Miami and Desert Storm is the hands-down biggest and best poker run and shoot-out in the Southwest. If you haven't attended, please put it on your "to-do" list.

Thanks for the welcome -- looks like the makings of a great boating site. I encourage anyone and everyone to make it to Havasu for the Boat Show and Desert Storm -- 9 continuous days of intense high performance boating (April 19-27). As for the Boat Show, it also has a first-class car show (Legends by the Lake), high speed water ski racing (over 100 mph on a ski, participants trying to qualify for the USA Team at the World Championships in Spain later this year), and an ICS sanctioned Homestyle Chili Cook-Off and Salsa Competition (winner qualifies for the World Chili Championship in Palm Springs this October). It's a guaranteed fun time!

Accommodations in Lake Havasu for the Boat Show/Desert Storm week gets tight very quickly. I've heard that the Nautical Beachfront Resort is sold out which isn't a surprise. If you're still looking, try the London Bridge Resort, the Heat, or the Islander -- all three near the hub of the activity. Or you can go to the Boat Show website, http://www.lakehavasuboatshow.com and click on "Do/Eat/Stay" for a list of hotels and motels in the immediate area. You might also want to consider renting a house for the week which might be more economical -- most major real estate agents in town (Keller Williams, Coldwell Banker, REMax Properties, etc.) all deal in short term rentals. Guaranteed, it's worth the trip!

Also King's View condos. That's where we scored a nice place that's right on the channel.

Wish I could go. Ill be in vegas at the same time and cant get away from my meetings to come down.

We'll be headed back up there for the eve of 28th before flying out 29th. Trying to decide where to stay. We got a couple of offers from places but thinking of trying something new.
