Called this past weekend to make hotel reservations at the Renaissance for this PR and the hotel is booked, anyone know any others close or have a room there not gonna use???

check with tj not sure how many he has but we can get by with 2

I'm one of the organizers and will have someone check on the hotel tomorrow. Seems early to be filled already considering we only have about 75-80 of 110 spots filled. There is another hotel next to the Renaissance that may have rooms...I think it's a Holiday Inn (Portsmouth waterfront).

Make sure you tell them it's for the RPBA (Richmond Powerboat Association)

I did mention the RPBA and they said there was no group rate. I didn't care about that was just looking for a group of rooms that had been alloted, she said they were booked full. All the hotel sites (expedia, blah blah blah) say the same

I assume you found it at Sunset up inside Hampton (across the river from the final party/hotel) and it should still be available this year. I would have met you guys over there but my boat only made it 1/2 way down last summer. At least I was able to park it and hitch a ride for the rest of the event.

I just talked to the couple that is in charge of the hotel and they will call tomorrow. Try again and mention the full name..."Richmond Powerboat Association". They use our full name and don't seem to recognize the initials for some reason.

Yes we found it and had a nice little ride over there last year.:rock I hate we did not get a chance to meet up with you but we will be there again this year and will probably be in my boat, so look me up.

Sorry Boss, If I had an extra room you could have it but I have 1 King and 1 Double queen which as Mike said we need.

Well, called Renissance again today, had to get a manager on the phone but there are still rooms available for the RPBA group. Will be sending registration today.

Getting REAL close!!!!

TJ and some of the other "freaks" that will be there.....look for a red and blue 38 Formula and come say hi. I wanted to meet a few of you ""freaks" last year but my boat didn't even make it to the first stop.

Also, someone needed 93 octane last year and to my knowledge it is still available at the same place it was last summer..... Sunset Marina (hope so, cause I need it too!!!)

The Renaissance is now booked solid. However, the Holiday Inn next door does have rooms as of a few days ago. Worst case is the Marriot on the other side of the harbor in Norfolk which is a (land/water) taxi away.

FYI- Holiday Inn is sold out....

Update-

I just booked at the Candlewood Suites in Hopewell for Friday night and the Renaissance for Saturday night. 1:37PM Eastern time on 7/7. The Ren said they have a ton of rooms left??????

Our room block filled a week or 2 ago with a price of $149 (I think). You got a room, but not in the "block" we reserved.....Glad to hear rooms are left at ANY price!!!!

Yea- I remember barely. I was broke by stop #2 last year, this year I am a passenger the whole run so things could get interesting...

Also from the other site....Its official Fountain Factory will be at Jammin on the James. They will have 2 boats, one is a 47 with Wyatt at the controls. Dont know what the other one is.

TONIGHT...it starts

Just passed the Factory Sunsation black F4 coming through downtown Richmond a few minutes ago.....!!!!

I'm in Hopewell at the Candlewood Suites.

I was going to say "life is grand on poker run weekends" but it should be "life is a coupe grand on poker run weekends (and only that cheap it you are lucky and nothing breaks or the strippers aren't too hot).

I couldnt make it out there today. The earliest I would have got there was probably 1 or 1:30 and I was not sure if you guys would still be there. I am looking forward to pictures though. Was there a red donzi in the run?
