If you could take your eyes away from the new Pure Platinum, what is undoubtedly one of the most incredible powerboats I have ever seen, you might have noticed the power behind it on display. Todd Goodwin, of Goodwin Competition had one of their monster 1947hp engines front and center for all to see at the 2015 Miami International Boat Show. I can not begin to fathom the amount of time, much less capital, that went into the design and creation of these new powerhouses. Lets just say they are a gearheads state of Nirvana!

I like it. Period

The Dry-Sump Oiling system is plumbed almost entirely internal with the passages CNC'd into the billet oil pan. Notice the oil pump itself bolts directly to the pan!

ROADHOG 02-17-2015 01:43 PM

Pete, might be wrong but looks like the belt for a dry sump oil pump.

The Whipple Quad-Rotor's on top of this monster grab your attention and draw you into even more CNC work that is off the charts. From the Quad-Core Whipple intercoolers to the semi-tunnel ram direct fuel injection....Horse Power insanity at its best!!!

AMBUSHER 02-17-2015 04:00 PM

the cogged belt that is driving the pulley on the right side bottom in the pics is the dry sump oil pump . the serpentine belt on the bottom left side in the pic is the water pump.
