Rock the Bay 2008 - Sept 5-6
 

Who is going?!?!? We're headed there for the second year. I am a sponsor of the event so we head out from Phoenix. Last year we had the best time and Jeff and Karen do a top notch job!

Anyone have room in their boat for an additional two? Our registrations are paid for we just need a ride. We'll be happy to give some money towards gas too. :)

Well it is looking like I am going to this one after all.

I'll check on a ride Stacy- not sure if I am taking my boat or catching a ride yet.

There's a couple of boats from our marina who are going down. I won't be there, I'll be in Pt Pleasant for the OPA races.

Sorry Stacy- we have 2 that are in limbo about going so haven't been able to get back to you as of yet. I apologize- not my boat so can't make the call or you would be in!

Update:

Due to Tropical Storm Hannah, we may be forced to delay Rock The Bay either one day or one week.

Our preference is to delay the on-water portion until Sunday (forecast to be nice) if it rains on Saturday and still hold the welcoming Party on Friday night, provide breakfast Saturday morning, have a great wet Bikini Conest on Saturday and let loose at the Goose, have our dinner banquet Saturday night, provide breakfast Sunday morning and do the run and lunch to Red Eye's on Sunday and get everyone back to the Goose by 3 pm on Sunday... if it rains cats and dogs on Saturday.

If only sporadic light rains and NO Thunderstorms are forecast for Saturday - we're running.

We will make a decision late in the evening on Wednesday September 3 and let everyone know via text messages to your cell phones, email and on the www.rockthebay.com website.

kinda hard for them to change the date this late in the game considering all the people who have made plans....hope for the best and if not...party till the sun comes up and leave the boats on the trailer. :)

With the weather forcast, and hurricane Hanna, looks like boating on Sat. is not going to happen, unless a miracle happens and the storm turns. The water portion of the run to Red Eyes will be on Sun. That wont work for us. We had to cancel. Hope everyone has a safe and good time.

If you cancel do you get a refund? I'll draw your cards for you if you want me to... :stirpot

I'm not sure our plan- calling Muffy later today to see what he wants to do.

I'm bummed we won't get to see you guys! I am sitting at the airport getting ready to fly out in a few. Sounds like we aren't going to run. We had paid for the plane tix and they weren't refunding so we decided to take the trip anyway. We'll at least get to hang out. :( sorry to hear you had to cancel. I think you have up to 48 hours prior to the run to cancel. not sure though.

No worries. We're headed out regardless. If the run is on sunday then we won't be in the run because we fly back to Phoenix on Sunday. But we'll be there for the parties.. so like the guy below said... party til the sun comes up! :)

Thanks Stacy, we had been looking forward to this run all summer. Really wanted to see you guys and hang out. Went to Jax. Poker run, and had a problem after towing all the way down and couldnt run the boat. Now this with the weather. Oh well theirs always next year. You guys will have a great time anyway. Jeff and Karen put on a first class run. Thanks Mark for offering to pull our cards, but on top of Jeff putting on a great event, he also has a cancellation policy, so we got our entry fee back. How many runs do that? You guys drink one for us.......Mark you probably will have more than one so party on!!!!!
