At this point, I'm probably annoying the piss out of Mark Rinda to have my motors done in time, but it sounds like we may be cutting it close. Brockman, I'll keep you posted if we're gonna be ready if you & Jenny still want to ride along.

Sounds good, if you'll have us, we are in! Lets get together after the wedding to discuss arrangements.

Some chitty rental property we got last year, they took our deposit because they mis-advertised the place as having a ramp. (and a dock, but thats another story) When we got there you could hardly drive a jon boat trailer down the ramp...we tried anyway, and put ruts in the mud, (no concrete) so they charged us for it. :wall_smiley:

Sorry to hear Jason I hope it's not spinners. They advertise a ramp that's new.

Spinners is nice you are gonna be fine

Apollard 04-26-2013 08:03 AM

Man, that sucks. I hate false adverts.

So, is there overnight dock space for rent? A search doesn't show anything, we are going to be burning hotel points - get a little extra benefit from work trips :)

Yes slips can be rented. Call Marina Bay and ask for Corey( the guy that runs the docks) tell him you are with the poker run and want to rent a slip for the weekend.

Is the boat ramp at Marina Bay / Liberty suitable for a 53 foot trailer?

DILLIGAF 04-28-2013 07:45 PM

John, that ramp is not open to the public but we have made arrangements for your trailer and bus if your bringing it. Jacob or myself will be giving you a call first of the week. Those renting slips I would recommend using Lighthouse Marina ( is pretty much accross the cove from Marina bay) that way you can drop your trailer in there lot like the past two years. Marina bay has no trailer parking, again the ramp is not public.

DILLIGAF 04-28-2013 07:47 PM

Lighthouse Marina will also have slips to rent. Any questions just hit me up. Changing host marinas is a pain but will make for a better time and more docking.

If your wanting to stay at the Hyatt they are about out of rooms. $124 per night for what's left. I ended up just booking at the Wyndham for $84.

Be sure to get your registration forms in ASAP guys! Not only does it help those putting on the run, it will also make your registration Friday night extremely quick, while others wait in line to fill out their forms.

Are there any GPS coordinates for the stops??

DILLIGAF 05-29-2013 08:01 AM

We will give out an updated version of a map of the lake with updated coordinates at the Capt meeting. We moved on stop is the reason for the updated map/ coordinates. This will give you 95% of what you need.

Lake Murray is truly the jewel of South Carolina and has become a major recreation destination. It boasts 649 miles of shoreline covering an area of 78 square miles. The lake is 41 miles long and 14 miles wide at its widest point and is enjoyed by thousands of people every week. The map below has many of the weekends locations marked, we will also be adding GPS coordinates in the next few days.

Hey Pat,
As of now the weather forecast looks like
Friday:
Rain in the morning. Scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. High near 85F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70%. Rainfall around a half an inch.

Saturday:
Partly cloudy with a stray thunderstorm. High near 89F and lows in the low 70s. with a 30% chance of rain.

tsharpe92 06-06-2013 10:28 AM

The local weather for Saturday is fine. High of 90 with a 30% chance of rain. Everything is still on. Hopefully the rain will push out early Friday.

tsharpe92 06-06-2013 10:54 AM

This is from the event organizer:

Just to be clear ALL the poker run events are still in effect! The 93.5 skip day has been moved, but the poker run skip day will happen weather permitting. It looks as if the rain will move out by that morning/afternoon. If not the party will be at Liberty's followed by the Captains meeting, registration and party that night. Saturday's weather looks good, partly sunny with a 20% chance on isolated shower. Hope to see everyone tomorrow.
