Help and suggestions would be welcomed. It would be awesome to call the web people and help them set it up. Just a guess, I would guess they are good at what they do, but have never worked with a boating event? I would think this is a pretty unique registration. Go school them Regartie!

Teaching them how to serve drinks on a jet won't help:nutkick

So it appears the slip number wasn't locked down. that was THE ONLY IMPORTANT PART.

I finally chose registration #100 and it appears to have worked.

Guess it just tie my fat B!itch up to tracey's boat with no fenders. :smiley-with-glasses

Seriously guys... this was worse than years past. Not sure how they could have FKd it up anymore.

Pretty good suggestion from someone today. Next year start the registration and have everyone sign up with no dock number. Get the order of registration and go old school. Call everyone starting with the first registered, then have them pick dock number. You would have your calling order and speed up registration time online. Something would still go wrong, but would make it pretty Simple.

boatfreak28 03-07-2016 11:19 AM

That would work but then you have people like me who had decided ahead of time that I wasn't going to register if I couldn't get a slip.

Also, just so its known and to help understand for anyone that "got a dock" at one water street your slip assignment may not be what you signed up for. The harbor master may do some moving around given an example of 2 50ft boats have registered for the same dock and the wells are only 80ft long.

With that thought in mind if next year the main marina is full of sponsors Im going to suggest people will get a dock at one water street and it will be at the harbor masters discretion as to what dock you get and will be determined by the order in which each participant is registered and your boat size. The point is if your at one water there is very little difference as to your slip number and location.

I really believe that the lack of dockage and giving all of the main dock to sponsors will be the end of this run. The organizers do a great job of everything else but trying to accommodate 100-110 boats is just too much.

I would hope the State would step up with the marina improvements before that would happen. They came up and took samples of marina floor bed late fall. I guess that has to do with anchoring docks. The harbor master keeps pushing. Very slow progress to get funding for it. Not sure where the process stands at this time.

That just means that registration will be 3500 and everyone gets a dock.. lol

The only thing wrong with registration is that supposedly if your slip was already taken you had to REFILL the entire form out. That was NOT supposed to be the case this year even though it HAS been every year past.

Simple

Fill out your registration form like normal completing all "required" fields
Select a slip
click submit
if your missing information IE: T-shirt size, address, boat length etc. there is a red warning message that appears and says to fill out all areas with an asterisk
continue to fill out what you missed and click submit again
If your slip is already taken then the similar red warning message should appear letting you know to select a different slip
There is no reason anyone should have to refill out the entire form

boatfreak28 03-07-2016 07:51 PM

I would think you should be able to select a slip first and then you have x amount of time to finish the transaction.

I agree with this completely.

I believe the transaction should be completely like Ticketmaster checkout. Everyone is fighting for a slip. No one wants to be without a dock, they want to be on the water. So the checkout should allow the registrant to choose their available slip and realtime it wont allow anyone else to pick that slip. In the event that two people picked the same slip it will automatically be granted to earlier timestamp by the computer. That user will get an allotted time to finish the checkout process. 3 minutes is ample. If the checkout is not complete before the clock expires than that slip/dock goes back to available.

I say everyone who wants to do the run flys into boyne city the first saturday of march, then everyone climbs into the octagon, last one standing gets a dock.
