They need to make a realtime dock listing... once you make your selection to start the process it removes the slip from the database... its really not that hard of a deal... then your slip is locked and it gives you a window to finish registration....

Did you guys have to pick a slip and give boat information for both the captain and first mate?

I asked that question 4,762 times, and everybody said that's how it would work.

And yes, I had to give for both.

I have stayed out of the registration process, owning a retail store I just don't want to have people mad at me. I feel bad for our board members that are handling this. This was to be a easy and a awesome set up. Seems not sadly. If you did not get a number I would suggest to call Lori ASAP if you have any questions. 231-582-9009.

Hmm. Went as smooth as can be for me. I purposely chose slip 56 since it was in the middle and figured I didnt want to fight for slips. Flew thru the form. got kicked back once for t shirt size.

I am sorry for all the frustration. I have maybe never used eventbrite in the past. Was the problem that everyone had that the slips were not in real time? We need to know for next year.

For those that didnt get in make sure to sign up on 3/15 and get on the waiting list if necessary.

^^^This is well said and reflects BT. I believe it will all get ironed out with the help of the people behind the scenes.

Thats what I did, chose one a ways down the form.... im 55 buddy... seems we will get to part tay together!!

Yes the slips were not in real time... multiple people could select the same slip and whoever finishes checkout first gets it... it should be more like ticketmaster... once the slip is selected by someone completing the purchase, they get an allotted time (maybe 3 minutes) and the slip selection is removed so no one else can select it and they can finish the checkout. After 3 minutes expires, if the purchase is not complete, the slip goes back to available and that person loses it.

The problem is that you have 100 people trying to pick 60 spots at the same time, all in a mad dash to try and get in while answering a bunch of questions at the same time. The system has created a competition amongst very competitive people who do not like to lose.

One of the great draws of BT is how seamless it is, how everything is taken care of. This process completely drops the ball and loses sight of that.

My AC unit doesn't work when it's sitting on a trailer:slaps

The dock selections have never been in real time. The last 3 years I've done it you basically got a slip based on how fast you filled the form out:lame:

50 looks like it is the last raft spot on the main dock... I think they missed the label but that dock as 3 X's in it... one in the middle should be 50... Dont mind my mad paintshop skills

280velocity 03-04-2016 10:40 AM

There is no spot 50. There is the big wide cig huntress that takes up to much space to put other boat in that spot. (50)
