Don't count on me too much....

1. tentatively (If we get it together) the plan is to run the scarab at boyne, we have a back up plan to that....
2. my Dad needs some glass help on his boat to use it this season... Given the choice I will fix my Dad's boat before mine.

Blue Oval 06-07-2016 08:47 PM

Got my release form from Ford today for the 2017 Super Duty. Had to fax in my insurance info, should be all set.

You could probably strap 2 :oldoldold on your trailer drive guard.....

If you are coming from I 75 you might want to get off at Vanderbilt and come across Thumb Lake rd into Boyne Falls. If you are coming from Grand Rapids, you might turn at M66 at Mancelona and cut across from East Jordan to Boyne City. The road work from Boyne Mt. To Elmira hill is going to be tight getting finished. Just a heads up to check on road construction before heading up

John Tokar stopped into the garage yesterday, they dropped off the Outerlimits at Boyne Boat Yard. They are just storing it there until Boyne Thunder.

Just to clarify, you are referring to work on 131 from Boyne Falls south to just south of the county line? Is CR32 still accessible?

Just looked it up on MDOT site. Sounds like asphalt crack repair, which probably means loose stones and hot tar.

Blue Oval 06-20-2016 07:17 AM

Yes on the 131. 32 is open, Korthase rd would be the cut across from there, it is old and nasty on south end and north end is dirt in several spots( re doing rd). I would take M66 at Mancelona then cut over from East Jordan.

This truck signed up for the street show. The guy is from the east coast. He was raised in East Jordan. Denny Hamlin drove his car before he made it to NASCAR.

Drock78 06-21-2016 06:33 PM

So heres the deal on 131....they are done patching the cracks. no pea stone was used. There are intermittent lane closures but only takes a couple of minutes. From my construction background it looks like they are widening it for a passing lane then going to repave the whole stretch.

Keep the road updates coming, want to avoid construction zones/debris towing the tilted cat. Team Cuz I Can MTI from central/western NY, planning to cross through Canada to shave some miles.

Looking forward to a great time, please introduce yourselves when you see us so we can share some laughs.

Tough to be leaving the Fountain at home- especially with Fountain Friday street show, but a big part of our fun is the travel to/from events together as a team in one rig.

Should be arriving Wednesday night, to enjoy Thursday fun run and Friday show/stereo wars.

What's the best advice you can give to first timers at Boyne event ??

drpete3 06-22-2016 07:29 AM

I got my 2 extra wrist bands purchased for my additional crew.

Well one of the first things is to come early and you have that part taken care of.

Second, we cover a lot of water. I suggest planning to run w others to the card stops.

Third with the route you plan to take, as your heading north on I 75 you will likely want to take the route from the Vanderbilt exit. This will allow you to avoid the construction that has been mentioned. On your gps, this is likely not the route it would normally take you.

Fourth, make sure to leave the docks and go downtown between 5-9pm. Its easy to get wrapped up talking to people and looking at boats on the dock but the street show is very cool and everyone will be coming back to the docks for stereo wars anyways.

Last, I will look for you as my wifes name is also Kelly O so we have to meet up
